. Trees are simply the largest and most obvious life forms in the eco-systems we call forests. When a logging company cuts down the trees it is destroys a huge, multi-trillion-life-form eco-system. Planting a few seedlings in no way a replacement for what was destroyed. Trees are the homes of most of the life forms on the planet. Trees are Mother Nature's main tool for cleaning the atmosphere of excess carbon dioxide. For Centuries, trees were the major building materials in any part of the world where trees grew. Vast forested areas have been destroyed by humans. For example, 50,000 years ago, before the arrival of humans, Australia was covered with forests. Now it's mostly arid, dry, and dusty, with huge, brush-burning fires that put significant amounts of pollution to the atmosphere. As another example, you may aware of the biblical references to "the cedars of Lebanon." Where majestic trees once grew, today we dirt, rocks, sand and a few shrubs. Today, right now as you read this sentence, the seemingly-overpowering and majestic, Amazon tropical rainforests in south America are being intentionally destroyed by human activity. When you combine the hundreds (perhaps thousands) of places where the forests are being destroyed and average the destruction per unit if time, the rate of destruction is one acre per second. At that rate of destruction, it takes only ten seconds to destroy an area the size of nine football fields. The entire eco-system, all the trees, the animals, the birds, the plants, the insects the humans, and every other life form in that ares are all under serous threat of extinction because, unless the destruction is stopped, it will reach a tipping point where the entire Amazon eco-system will collapse and disappear, leaving in it's place, another barren dry dusty area like Australia. If that is allowed to happen, Runaway Global Climate Change will become unstoppable. Billions of human will die. Life as we know it will cease to exist. . Hemp is one of the most useful, most versatile, and most valuable agricultural crops on the entire planet. Hemp can be used to produce a wide variety of products, products such as . You've probably seen the thick, rough, brown ropes, like those used on the old sailing ships, or rough, brown fibrous door mats. Those ropes and mats are made from hemp plant fibers. There are dozens of excellent websites expounding the virtues of hemp so we needn't add another. That would take us off our main track. Instead, we'll direct you to a few of the best ones we found. Because the TLC-Life-Center's primary focus is issues related to the environment, we will focus on using hemp for making paper products. . Our goal is to shift existing paper companies form using wood as their fiber source to using hemp. The main reason that is not happening today is because growing hemp was made illegal in 1937, heavily used and promoted during WWII and then made illegal again. Randolph Hearst. Companies presently advertise that they are environmentally friendly because they use recycled paper for this or that portion of their business. The next generation of that concept will occur when companies start saying they use only paper made from hemp.
We mentioned coops in the section above. Let's look more closely at the benefits of this. Coops could be set up and recourses directed to buying sock in existing paper companies until the coop owned controlling interest in the paper mill. Obviously we cannot start growing hemp here in the United States today, because the politicians are (though several degrees of separation) controlled by the people who launder all that illegal drug money. Because of that we will take our business and the jobs our business will produce to a country where growing hemp is legal. Regardless of where Mari-Med Corporation produces the hemp fibers, Mari-Med Foundation will still hold a minimum of 51% of the corporate stock. We will also make it abundantly clear that the only reason we can't hire American laborers is because the completely, totally, and absolutely absurd marijuana prohibition laws which prohibit us from conducting our business in the Unites states. . |
